Noite Que Brincou de Lua, with Edu Passeto
This 1981 independent album was recorded on 2-inch reel and has great acoustic sounds including piano, mandolin and various orchestral instruments. Today, this album is still highly sought after by DJs and music lovers around the world. “Noite que Bricou de Lua” has been described as ‘a super rare and largely unheard marsterwork of MPB’ and is now being reissued by Far Out Recordings. The limited-edition official reissue has been remastered from the original ½ inch tapes and pressed to heavyweight 180g vinyl.
Amigos & Friends
In 2000, a performance in the Barbican Centre in London, England, during which he met many English musicians, spurred his interest in relocating. Gui produced and recorded for a time in both countries, recording his second independent album “Amigos and Friends,” released in 2002, which is an album recorded in a guitar and singer-songwriter style blending notes from Electronic music, Samba, MPB, Jazz, and Bossa Nova sounds, and features Brazilian legends Roberto Menescal, Toninho Horta, José Roberto Bertrami, and Pedro Luís.
PUTUMAYO Songs for Children
Two of his songs, “Pancada,” and “Dois Meninos,” were included into two collective albums by Putumayo Kids Records entitled “Brazilian Playground (2007),” and “Jazz Playground (2010).” These albums feature international songs for children.
